Earlier this week, Amped Founder Matt Cimino announced that his company has been acquired by Intuit Mailchimp.
Cimino, a serial tech entrepreneur, didn’t reveal the exact deal size, but characterized the acquisition as a “significant investment.”
“We are excited to see what’s possible as we join a $184 billion market cap company, he added.
Founded in 2021, Amped is a popup tool built for e-commerce that provides customizable templates for email and SMS texts.
Cimino announced the acquisition on LinkedIn on July 1, and included a video detailing the acquisition and the transition for current customers.
Amped has team members in Raleigh, Wilmington and Greece, and according to Cimino, the entire team will become part of the Intuit Mailchimp organization.
The Amped forms and popups will soon be available exclusively in Intuit Mailchimp in the next few months.
“I am extremely grateful and believe this is a huge win for North Carolina’s entrepreneur community to have another deal on the books with the scale of Intuit,” Cimino said.
